Water-based inks and solvent-free lamination for flexible packaging.

Flexible packaging asks the most of water-based chemistry: thin films, high speeds, printed structures that are laminated, and compliance scopes that change with the market. chemlinkai supplies gravure and flexo inks plus solvent-free laminating adhesives as one system, verified on your structure before supply.

What we cover in this industry

The packaging structure decides the system: surface-printed work needs inks that survive on the outside of the package; lamination structures need inks that bond into the laminate and adhesives that hold the webs together through conversion, filling and use.

Every flexible packaging project starts from the film pair, the print position, the line drying capacity and the end-use compliance target. Those four inputs fix the ink series, the adhesive series and the test plan.

  • Gravure lamination inks for printed film structures
  • Water-based flexo inks for surface printing and overprint
  • Solvent-free laminating adhesives for film, foil and barrier structures
  • Compliance scope agreed per market — food-contact data disclosed grade by grade

Flexible packaging questions

Do you supply food-contact inks and adhesives for flexible packaging?

Food-contact suitability depends on the complete structure and the regulation in your market. We disclose the available migration and compliance data grade by grade; where the data does not cover your structure or market, we say so and agree the test plan before supply.

When should I use gravure and when flexo for water-based inks?

The process is usually fixed by your press base. The formulation differs: gravure inks are tuned to cell release and doctor-blade behavior, flexo inks to anilox delivery, foaming and faster evaporation demands. We formulate to your process and press geometry, not the other way around.

Why choose solvent-free lamination over solvent-based?

Solvent-free lamination removes solvent handling, drying load and solvent retention from the process, at the cost of a curing period before full bond. Whether it fits depends on your laminator, the structure and your conversion schedule — we assess all three before recommending it.

How do you verify bond strength in a printed laminate?

Bond strength is tested on the real structure: the printed and adhesive-coated laminate is cured under agreed conditions, then peeled at defined aging windows. Adhesion failures are traced to the ink-adhesive interface or the film surface so the fix lands on the right layer.
